The card collector's view

The cornerstone is the 1975 Topps #223 rookie, sharing a 'Rookie Shortstops' frame — clean high-grade copies move steadily on the secondary market. The 1975 Topps Mini #223 is the scarcer variant collectors chase. His MVP years produced the 1982 Donruss #510 and 1989 Topps Tiffany parallels as showcase pieces. Modern Brewers fans hunt Topps Archives and Heritage retro autographs along with his 1999 Topps HOF Inductee card.

About Robin Yount Cards & Plaques at FreshDCards

Drafted 3rd overall by Milwaukee in 1973 at age 17. He started at shortstop on opening day 1974, still 18 — the youngest opening-day shortstop in modern history. He stayed twenty years, all in Milwaukee. The 1982 squad, Harvey's Wallbangers, rode him to the World Series, where he hit .414 against the Cardinals with two four-hit games and a record twelve hits. He moved to center field mid-career and won a second MVP there in 1989. 3,142 hits, no team but the Brewers.
