The greatest catcher who ever lived. Josh Gibson played his entire career in the Negro Leagues from 1930 to 1946, mostly with the Pittsburgh Crawfords and Homestead Grays. After MLB officially incorporated Negro League statistics in 2020, Gibson became the all-time leader in batting average (.372), slugging percentage (.718), and OPS (1.177). He never got to play in the integrated majors. He died of a stroke in January 1947 at age 35, three months before Jackie Robinson's debut. Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 1972.
