Howe's true rookie card is the 1951-52 Parkhurst #66 — a vintage hockey cornerstone with high-grade copies extraordinarily scarce. The 1954-55 Topps #8 marks his first Topps appearance and is another core piece of any vintage Red Wings collection. Parkhurst, Topps, and O-Pee-Chee runs from the 1950s through the 1970s capture his entire Detroit, Houston, and Hartford run. Gordie Howe is Mr. Hockey — 26 NHL seasons across five decades, almost all of them in Detroit. Four Stanley Cups with the Red Wings (1950, 1952, 1954, 1955). Six Hart Trophies, a mark only Gretzky surpassed. 801 goals and 1,049 assists by the time he finally walked away. He famously played his last NHL game at age 52, the only player in league history to suit up in five different decades, and the elbows-up game that defined his prime became the standard for what playing tough at the position even meant.
