Carolina Panthers receiver Tetairoa McMillan put on a show on Sunday night, October 4, at Bank of America Stadium: 14 catches for 192 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-26 win over the Detroit Lions. Bryce Young found him for a 32-yard score in the first half and again from 10 yards out in the third quarter, and McMillan had 147 yards before halftime.
The NFL named him NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the first wide receiver in Panthers history to win it. He is also the first Panther ever with at least 10 catches, 175 yards and two touchdowns in one game, and his 192 yards led the entire league that week.
Who is Tetairoa McMillan?
The Panthers drafted McMillan #8 overall in 2025 out of Arizona. His rookie year went about as well as a rookie year can: 70 catches, 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns, plus a Panthers rookie record for receiving yards. He won AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, the first Panther to take that award since Cam Newton in 2011. In year two, he is already Young's go-to target.
