Germie Bernard's Overtime Winner: The Steelers Rookie Receiver's Cards

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Germie Bernard picked a big stage for his first NFL touchdown. On October 18 in Tampa, with the Steelers and Buccaneers tied 19-19 in overtime, Aaron Rodgers led a 12-play, 70-yard drive and finished it with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Bernard with 3:15 left in the extra period. That score won it, 26-19, and gave the Steelers their first road win of the season after they rallied from 16-3 down in the fourth quarter.

Bernard was Rodgers' go-to target all afternoon: 11 catches on 12 targets for 87 yards. Those 11 catches are the most ever by a Steelers rookie wide receiver in one game, passing JuJu Smith-Schuster's nine from 2017. The week before, he had 6 catches for 80 yards in a win over the Colts, and with the Steelers at 4-2 he keeps earning a bigger role.

Who is Germie Bernard?

The Steelers traded up in the second round to take Bernard #47 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. He finished his college career at Alabama, where he caught 64 passes for 862 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2025. The Steelers like him because he can line up inside or outside, and he has shown it.

His base rookie card is 2026 Topps Football #325, Topps' first NFL flagship in a decade, and the easiest way to get it is the Steelers team set, which comes with T.J. Watt and the rest of the Steelers too. The fan favorite is his 1991 Topps Rookies #91TR-25 insert, a throwback design that also comes in a crackle foil parallel and a pink crackle foil parallel. For something shinier there is his 1991 Chrome Mojo Refractor and a 1991 Chrome Blue numbered to 150, and the Steelers 1991 Topps insert pack includes his rookie insert.
