Cam Ward and the Titans' Comeback in Indianapolis: His Cards

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward and his teammates turned a 13-0 halftime deficit into a 26-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on October 18 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Two Joey Slye field goals cut the lead to 13-6, and after Chimere Dike's 58-yard punt return set the offense up close, Ward threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to rookie Carnell Tate to tie it 13-13 early in the fourth quarter. The Titans took the lead on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown, and Slye kicked two field goals in the final 2 1/2 minutes to close it out.

It was head coach Robert Saleh's first win with the Titans and the 500th win in franchise history, and Ward gave Saleh the game ball. "I'm proud of him," Ward said. "Coach Saleh, he is the same person each and every day he comes in the building." As for how the Titans pulled it off, Ward put it simply: "At the end of the day, I think all three phases complement each other at the right time."

Who is Cam Ward?

The Titans made Ward the #1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the first quarterback the franchise ever took first overall. In his one season at Miami he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns, was a consensus All-American, won the Davey O'Brien Award and was named ACC Player of the Year. Now in his second season, he has a young receiver to grow with in Tate, the #4 overall pick of 2026.

His 2026 Topps Football base card is #264, and the easiest way to get it is the Titans team set, which also has Carnell Tate's rookie card. The fan favorite is his 1991 Topps Football #91TF-30 insert, a throwback design that also comes in a crackle foil parallel and a pink crackle foil parallel. He also has inserts in NFL Stars, Pressure Cookers and Topps Profiles.
