June 8 in Yankees History: Lazzeri first Yankee with three-homer game (1927)

Tony Lazzeri became the first player in Yankees history to hit three home runs in one game, against the White Sox, including an inside-the-park homer and a game-tying ninth-inning blast in a 12-11 win.
