June 22 in Wizards History: Bullets draft Muggsy Bogues, shortest player ever (1987)

At the 1987 NBA Draft on June 22, the Washington Bullets selected 5-foot-3 Wake Forest point guard Muggsy Bogues 12th overall, the shortest player in NBA history. He briefly paired with 7-foot-7 teammate Manute Bol in Washington.
