July 14, 1956 – Mel Parnell of the Boston Red Sox pitched a no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox for a 4-0 victory at Fenway Park . This would be the first no hitter for the Sox since 1923 when Howard Ehmke would blank the Philadelphia A’s.
