September 9 in Dodgers History: Sandy Koufax pitches a perfect game (1965)

Sandy Koufax retired all 27 Chicago Cubs in a 1-0 win, striking out 14 for the fourth no-hitter of his career, then a major-league record. It was the first modern-era perfect game by a left-hander.
