March 5 in Dodgers History: Tommy Lasorda Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame (1997)

The Veterans Committee elected Tommy Lasorda into the Baseball Hall of Fame on March 5, 1997, along with Nellie Fox and Willie Wells. Lasorda was recognized for his 20-year managerial tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers, during which he won two World Series titles, four pennants, and eight National League West titles.
