Kirk Gibson stormed out of spring training on March 3, 1988, after Jesse Orosco lined the inside of his cap with eye black as a prank. Gibson, acquired to be a tone-setter for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was upset by the incident and missed the game, though Orosco apologized after a meeting with manager Tommy Lasorda.
