Howard University awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree to Jackie Robinson, the recently-retired Brooklyn Dodgers infielder who broke MLB's color barrier in 1947. Robinson received the honor alongside Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in recognition of his civil rights contributions.
