On June 15, 1996, shortstop Juan Castro caught a flare hit by Chipper Jones and initiated a triple play against the Atlanta Braves in the first inning, with Delino Deshields and Eric Karros completing the play. This was the Los Angeles Dodgers' first triple play in 47 years and their first since relocating from Brooklyn.
