January 6 in Dodgers History: Mike Piazza Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame (2016)

Former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Mike Piazza was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on his fourth year of eligibility, receiving votes on 83% of ballots. The 12-time All-Star and National League Rookie of the Year with the Dodgers became the 48th player with ties to the franchise to be enshrined in Cooperstown.
