Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Orel Hershiser's record-setting 59 consecutive scoreless innings streak was snapped in his first start of the 1989 season when the Cincinnati Reds scored on an errant pickoff attempt and a two-out RBI base hit by Todd Benzinger in the first inning.
