April 17 in Dodgers History: Don Drysdale Makes MLB Debut (1956)

Don Drysdale made his Major League Baseball debut in a relief appearance for the Brooklyn Dodgers against the Philadelphia Phillies, walking a batter in a scoreless ninth inning. He would go on to spend his entire 14-year career with the Dodgers, becoming a Hall of Famer and three-time World Series champion.
