On June 24, 1964, collegiate star Rick Reichardt becomes the biggest “bonus baby” in major league history when he signs a contract with the Los Angeles Angels . Reichardt, whose bonus totals $200,000, will make his major league debut later in the season, batting .162 in 37 at-bats.
