Larry Walker: The Greatest Rockie

Larry Walker was a five-tool force and the greatest player the Colorado Rockies have ever produced. A Canadian kid from British Columbia, he became a Gold Glove right fielder, a batting champion, and in 2020 the first Rockie ever enshrined in Cooperstown.

Walker did everything well. He won the 1997 National League MVP, captured three batting titles, took home seven Gold Gloves, and retired with a .313 average and a .965 OPS. Few players in history combined his power, average, arm, and defense the way he did.

In Colorado he was the franchise's first true superstar, the face of Rockies baseball through the late 1990s. His No. 33 is one of the most beloved in team history.

Now the Rockies are casting him in bronze at Coors Field. You can honor him too with a Larry Walker plaque for your fan cave.
