Jalen Brunson. Of course it was Jalen Brunson.
Down by one with two minutes left in Game 1, Brunson drilled a corner three to give the Knicks the lead for good — finishing with 30 points, 13 of them in the fourth quarter. New York beat San Antonio 105-95 in a road game that had no business going their way after they trailed by 14 in the third. Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Victor Wembanyama showed up with 26 and 12 in his Finals debut but shot 6-for-21 — a reminder that this series is far from over.
Knicks fans, your team is one win closer to the championship your fan cave deserves.
