The Chicago Cubs are adding a championship hero to their Hall of Fame. On August 30, 2026, the franchise will induct Jon Lester, the ace who helped end the Cubs' 108-year title drought in 2016.
It is a fitting tribute. Lester went three-for-three in World Series titles, was a five-time All-Star, and delivered the steady October pitching that carried the 2016 Cubs to their historic championship.
Fans at Wrigley that day, or watching from home, will get to celebrate one of the most important Cubs of the modern era. It is also a great time to add a Jon Lester plaque to the wall.
