The San Francisco Giants are giving Jeff Kent the franchise's highest honor. On August 29, 2026, the Giants will retire his No. 21, celebrating the 2000 National League MVP just weeks after his July induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
It is a fitting tribute. Kent hit more home runs than any second baseman in MLB history and was the engine of the Giants' lineup during their early-2000s run. His No. 21 will now hang permanently at the ballpark.
Fans at the park that day, or watching from home, will get to celebrate a Giants great and brand-new Hall of Famer. It is also a great time to add a Jeff Kent plaque to the wall.
