Justin Verlander
In Detroit he won the 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young Award in the same season, a rare feat for a starter. His overpowering fastball and durability made him one of the defining aces of his generation.

Hank Greenberg
Hammerin' Hank was one of the game's great sluggers, twice named MVP and a trailblazing star for Jewish Americans. He drove in 183 runs in 1937 and nearly matched Ruth's home run record in 1938.

Alan Trammell
The steady shortstop spent his entire career in Detroit and was MVP of the 1984 World Series. With Lou Whitaker he formed the longest-running double-play combination in baseball history.

Jack Morris
The bulldog ace of the 1984 champions won more games than any pitcher in the 1980s. His gritty, complete-game style embodied Detroit baseball for over a decade.
