Ted Williams
The Splendid Splinter was the last man to hit .400 in a season and is widely called the greatest pure hitter who ever lived. He won two Triple Crowns and six batting titles despite losing nearly five prime years to military service.
David Ortiz
Big Papi delivered the most clutch hits in franchise history and drove the 2004 comeback that broke the curse. A ten-time All-Star and three-time champion, he retired with 541 home runs and legendary October heroics.
Carl Yastrzemski
Yaz carried the Impossible Dream club to the 1967 pennant while winning the last American League Triple Crown for 45 years. He amassed 3,419 hits and 452 home runs across 23 seasons, all in a Red Sox uniform.

Pedro Martinez
At his peak Pedro was the most dominant pitcher of his generation, blending overpowering stuff with pinpoint command. He won two Cy Young Awards in Boston and anchored the 2004 rotation that finally won it all.
Carlton Fisk
Pudge Fisk waved fair the most iconic home run in World Series history to win Game 6 in 1975. A rugged and durable backstop, he was the emotional leader of the Red Sox through the 1970s.

Cy Young
Baseball's all-time wins leader with 511 victories, Young starred for Boston in the franchise's earliest seasons and won the first modern World Series in 1903. The sport's annual pitching award bears his name.

Wade Boggs
A hitting machine who won five batting titles in Boston, Boggs reached base at a historic clip and collected 3,010 career hits. His disciplined approach made him one of the finest pure contact hitters ever.
Jim Rice
The most feared slugger of his era, Rice won the 1978 MVP and drove in 100 runs eight times for the Red Sox. He spent his entire sixteen-year career in Boston and hit 382 home runs.
