Danhausen at Fanatics Fest NYC 2026: The Knicks Curse-Breaker Comes Home

Brunsonhausen 2-Card Plaque

Danhausen — the very nice, very evil WWE wrestler whose entire gimmick is cursing people he doesn’t like — will be at Fanatics Fest NYC 2026, July 16–19 at the Javits Center. For Knicks fans, this is no ordinary appearance. This is the guy who, at the height of the playoffs, did the unthinkable on ESPN’s First Take: he uncursed the New York Knicks.

The Knicks were down 2–1 to the Hawks in the first round. Then Danhausen showed up on First Take, did his hex-reversal bit on camera, and from that moment forward New York won three straight to bury Atlanta, swept Philadelphia, swept Cleveland, and beat the Spurs in five to take home the franchise’s first championship since 1973. Coincidence? Jalen Brunson, our Finals MVP and a documented WWE diehard, didn’t think so. On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon he admitted: “At first I was a little skeptical. But you have to believe it now.”

And so Brunsonhausen — the unholy crossover of a Garden captain and a Detroit-born horror-movie wrestler — became Madison Square Garden folklore. We made the plaque.
