Chase Utley: The Man

For five golden years, Chase Utley was the heartbeat of the Philadelphia Phillies. The hard-nosed second baseman played the game one way, all out, and turned himself into the most beloved Phillie of his generation.

Utley was the engine of a Phillies team that won five straight NL East titles, two pennants, and the 2008 World Series. A six-time All-Star and four-time Silver Slugger, he saved his best for October: in the 2009 World Series he tied a Major League record with five home runs in a single Fall Classic.

Phillies fans loved him for how he played, all grit and no flash. Broadcaster Harry Kalas said it best when he called him simply "the Man." His No. 26 has not been worn by a Phillie since.

Now Philadelphia is adding him to the Wall of Fame. You can honor him too with a Chase Utley plaque for your fan cave.
