June 25 in Dodgers History: Bill Russell Becomes Los Angeles Dodgers Franchise Leader In Games Played (1984)

On June 25, 1984, Bill Russell broke the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise record by playing in his 1,953rd career game, starting in center field in a 9-4 loss to the San Diego Padres at Dodger Stadium. Russell had appeared in all 42 of the Dodgers' games that season to that point.
