Here is our ranked list of the legends who built the franchise.

Philadelphia Eagles All-Time Greats plaque

1. Reggie White (DE · 1985-1992)

The 'Minister of Defense' remains the most dominant defensive player in franchise history, recording 124 sacks as an Eagle, still a club record. He posted 21 sacks in just 12 games in 1987 and made the Pro Bowl in every one of his Philadelphia seasons. A two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, he is enshrined in Canton.

2. Chuck Bednarik (C/LB · 1949-1962)

Pro football's last true 60-minute man, Bednarik starred at both center and linebacker for his entire 14-year career. He won NFL titles in 1949 and 1960, the latter sealed by his famous game-saving tackle of Jim Taylor. An eight-time Pro Bowler and Hall of Famer, 'Concrete Charlie' embodied Eagles toughness.

3. Steve Van Buren (RB · 1944-1951)

The franchise's first superstar, Van Buren powered the Eagles to back-to-back NFL championships in 1948 and 1949. He led the league in rushing four times and was a charter-era Hall of Famer inducted in 1965. His snow-game touchdown won the 1948 title and defined early Eagles glory.

4. Brian Dawkins (S · 1996-2008)

'Weapon X' was the emotional heartbeat of the Eagles defense for 13 seasons. A nine-time Pro Bowler and the franchise's all-time leader in forced fumbles, he combined ferocious hitting with rare ball-hawking range. Dawkins was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

5. Harold Carmichael (WR · 1971-1983)

A towering 6-foot-8 target, Carmichael set franchise records for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches that stood for decades. He once caught a pass in an NFL-record 127 consecutive games and made four Pro Bowls. The four-decade wait ended with his Hall of Fame induction in 2020.

6. Jason Peters (OT · 2009-2020)

One of the finest left tackles of his generation, Peters protected the Eagles' blind side for over a decade. He earned seven Pro Bowl selections in Philadelphia and anchored the line of the 2017 Super Bowl LII championship team. His combination of size and athleticism set the standard at the position.

7. Jason Kelce (C · 2011-2023)

The greatest center in franchise history and its emotional leader, Kelce was a six-time first-team All-Pro and a Super Bowl LII champion. Renowned for his elite mobility and durability, he started 156 consecutive regular-season games to close his career and became a beloved Philadelphia icon.

8. Tommy McDonald (WR · 1957-1963)

An undersized, fearless deep threat, McDonald caught 13 touchdowns for the 1960 NFL championship team. He averaged a touchdown roughly every five catches over his career and made five Pro Bowls in Philadelphia. His joyful, all-out style earned him a long-awaited Hall of Fame induction in 1998.

9. Eric Allen (CB · 1988-1994)

A shutdown cornerback on the dominant Buddy Ryan and Rich Kotite defenses, Allen made five Pro Bowls during his seven Eagles seasons. He intercepted 34 passes in Philadelphia, including a legendary 94-yard weaving pick-six against the Jets in 1993 that is among the best returns ever.

10. Norm Van Brocklin (QB · 1958-1960)

'The Dutchman' spent just three seasons in Philadelphia but delivered the franchise its 1960 NFL championship and was named league MVP that year. A masterful passer and field general, he beat Vince Lombardi's Packers in the title game, the only postseason loss of Lombardi's career.

Honorable Mentions

Randall Cunningham (Dynamic dual-threat QB of the late 1980s), Donovan McNabb (Winningest QB in franchise history), Wilbert Montgomery (Star running back of the 1980 NFC champs), Pete Pihos (Hall of Fame two-way end, three NFL titles), Seth Joyner (Versatile linebacker on the Gang Green defense), Brian Westbrook (Explosive dual-threat back of the 2000s), Jalen Hurts (Super Bowl LIX MVP quarterback), Bob Brown (Hall of Fame mauling offensive tackle)
