The card collector's view

Bossy's rookie card is the 1978-79 O-Pee-Chee #115 — the most desirable Bossy card and a key piece in any vintage Islanders collection, with high-grade examples driving strong demand. The 1978-79 Topps #115 is the US-market parallel sharing the same number. O-Pee-Chee and Topps releases from 1979-87 capture his entire Islanders dynasty run. Modern Upper Deck SP Authentic, The Cup, and retrospective Islanders sets offer signed and patch memorabilia for the Bossy collection.

About Mike Bossy at FreshDCards

Mike Bossy is the Islanders' Hall of Fame right wing who scored 50 goals in nine of his ten NHL seasons — the only player to ever do that. Four consecutive Stanley Cups (1980-1983) playing on the top line with Bryan Trottier and Clark Gillies. Three Lady Byngs as the gentleman scorer who didn't fight even when the rest of the 1980s NHL was throwing punches. He retired at 30 with a chronic back injury, finished with 573 goals in 752 games, and stayed close to the franchise as a broadcaster until his death from lung cancer in 2022.
