The card collector's view

Clarke's rookie card is the 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee #195 — a key vintage Flyers chase piece, with high-grade examples in steady demand. Topps did not include Clarke in their 1970-71 set, making the OPC version the only rookie of record. The 1971-72 OPC #114 is the strong second-year follow-up. O-Pee-Chee and Topps releases from 1972-84 capture his entire Flyers career. Modern Upper Deck SP Authentic and retrospective Flyers sets offer signed memorabilia for the Clarke collection.

About Bobby Clarke at FreshDCards

Bobby Clarke is the toothless, diabetic, terrifying captain of the Broad Street Bullies. He led the Philadelphia Flyers to consecutive Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975 — the franchise's only Cup wins — through equal parts elite playmaking and elite intimidation. Three Hart Trophies. Three 100-point seasons. The famous slash that broke Valeri Kharlamov's ankle in the 1972 Summit Series became part of his legend and part of the case against him — you decide. He spent his whole 15-year NHL career in Philadelphia, then ran the franchise's front office for decades.
